The Lynchburg Sheriff’s Office held it’s 5th annual Project Lifesaver fundraiser golf tournament. The tournament took place at Poplar Grove Golf Course in Amherst, Virginia and was a great success. Through the hard work and dedication of our staff and the generosity of our sponsors, we were able to raise over $17,000. We had two flights and a with a total of 221 players in attendance. Outback Steak House provided lunch for the staff and players. Due to the wonderful reponse from the community, business owners and merchants, with honorable mention to Kirtis Webb of Bruce Signs and Darryl and Nancy Huften of Apple Ford we were able to give prizes to the top two teams in each of the two flights as well as each participant receiving a door prize.
The proceeds from the tournament will assist in providing equipment and training so that the Lynchburg Sheriff’s Office can continue to provide this valuable program to our community.
Sheriff Gillispie would like to extend his appreciation to his staff and everyone involved in making this fundraiser a success. With special thanks to Sgt. Tim White and Cpl. Margaret Younger and for their efforts and to our Gold Sponsors including Bruce Signs, The Lynchburg Millennium Sports Riders, Inc., Michael's Carpet World, Wal-Mart, Apple Ford, and Outback Steak House.
